Day by day teacher education is getting momentum to attract the societyby adopting new approaches. The recent trend in Information andCommunication Technologies and educational psychology is an emergingarea in the field of teacher education so as to cater to the needs ofthe aspiring teachers.
The Senthil college of education is started by the Senthil EducationalSociety, which is a pioneering educational service institution wellrecognized by the society by offering quality education as per theneeds of the society.
The present teacher centered education and teacher educator centerededucation should be revamped to make education as learner centered andteacher trainee centered through ICT and educational psychologicalapproaches. The Senthil College of Education, Puducherry with thecollaboration of Indian Academy of Applied Psychology and PondicherryPsychology Association is organizing its first National seminar onRecent Trends in Educational Psychology and ICT in Teacher Education on18th and 19th May, 2007 at Puducherry. We hope that this seminar willbecome a turning point in the development of a new approach to teachereducation, which will carry in it the very best of what modern teachereducation and psychological approaches have to offer. This seminar isnot for just paper presenting and discussing the issues, which arealready been discussed and unsettled or ongoing. We try to exploreinnovative ideas and creative psychological approaches so as to applyin teacher education. The seminar will make you to think and work in apurposeful and meaningful direction by applying integral approaches inICT and educational psychology in teacher education.
To achieve the objectives described above, there will be fourplenary sessions and four concurrent technical sessions. Each of thesesessions will be devoted to one of the main objectives. The plenarysessions will have invited speakers only

Delegates are requested to submit their papers on any of the listedtopics. To ensure a consistent high quality of all the presentations,participants will be requested to submit the full text well in advanceand not later than 30th April, 2007. Abstract and paper should be sentby email ( firstname.lastname@example.org ) or hard copy with CD in MS-Word format only. No TA/DA will be paid to the delegates.
Rs. 500/-. Per participant. The Registration fee should be sent inadvance by DD in favour of Senthil College of Education payable atPuducherry. Please note that there will be no new registrations on thespot.
Pondicherry is situated on the Coromandal Coast about 160 kms fromChennai. Every half an hour there are buses from Chennai to Puducherry;the trip takes 3 - 4 hours. The venue for the inaugural session of theseminar seminar is at Hotel Surguru, Puducherry and technical sessionswill be held at the college campus.
Boarding and Lodging for out station delegates will be arranged atthe available Guest houses. The rooms will have double occupancy. Youcan also make your own arrangement in one of the many hotels inPuducherry.
The afternoon of second day of the seminar will be devoted to areporting session in which the important ideas that transpired duringthe conference will be highlighted. It should bring the depth andrelevance of integral teaching into focus and find ways to make it anessential part of teacher education and research.
